The birds that have their names begin with letter V are not so closely related and therefore will be found colonizing totally different areas on the globe. They include birds that live in subtropical or tropical lowland forests to those that live in dry shrub land which is located in high altitude areas.

Varied Honeyeater

This bird is scientifically known as Lichenostomus versicolor and belongs in the family of birds called Meliphagidae. It is cross continental bird and will most likely be found in Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It will naturally inhabit subtropical and sometimes tropical mangrove forests.

Variegated Antpitta

This is species of birds belongs to the family Formicariidae and is known scientifically as Grallaria varia. It is most commonly found in southern American countries of Argentina and Brazil, and also in the Caribbean countries of French Guyana as well as Paraguay. This bird species is mainly a South American bird and is only sparsely populated in other regions mentioned.

This is a perching bird that is categorized in the family of tit birds known as Paridae and is known Cyanistes varius it is predominantly Asian bird and is found countries like Taiwan, Japan and Korea and also locally in North eastern side of China. Some traces of this bird family have also been spotted in south eastern parts of the former USSR or Russia.

Known scientifically as Philepitta castanea, the Velvet Asity is a species of bird that is grouped in the family Philepittidae. It is a rare species which is only known to be found in Africa and especially Madagascar. The natural habitat of this bird is preferably subtropical or in some cases, in tropical moist lowland forests.

Velvet-browed Brilliant

This is one of the several members of the hummingbird species that belong in the family of Trochilidae and is scientifically christened Heliodoxa xanthogonys. It is to be mostly found in Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana. These birds tend to like subtropical or tropical moist montanes as their natural habitats and can sometimes be found in high-altitude shrub land.

Vermilion Tanager

This bird is known scientifically as Calochaetes coccineus and is a bird species that belongs the Thraupidae family and in the genus Calochaetes. Its native homes are in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador. It naturally inhabits subtropical or tropical lowlands that are moist. Vernal Hanging-Parrot Its scientific name is Loriculus vernalis and is known to breed in from India to South Asia. There is a very similar species of this bird that is found in Sri Lanka and is called endemic SRI Lanka Hanging Parrot, which is scientifically called L. beryllinus. It is known to migrate locally mainly attracted by fruits buds, seeds which make its diet.

Vietnamese Pheasant

This bird is found in the species of gallopheasant and is scientifically known as Lophura hatinhensis. It was discovered in 1964 and is predominant in Vietnam where it is known to colonize Ke Go Nature Reserve and also in the province of Ha Tinh.

Vinaceous Rosefinch

This bird belongs to the finch species and in Fringillidae family. Its scientific name is Carpodacus vinaceus and is mainly found in India, Taiwan, China, Nepal and Myanmar. It inhabits temperate subtropical or tropical dry forest.
