DESCRIPTION
14 1/2 inches (37cm). Body green with yellow showing underneath.
Forehead and part of head showing blue. White ring on light brown eyes.
Beak pale, legs brownish. Imma-tures sometimes have red spots on shoulders
or wing edges.
NATURAL DISTRIBUTION
Northern Venezuela, Brazil and Colombia.
HABITAT Blue
Crowned Conure are found in forest near farmland and fruit trees, sometimes
large flocks.
DIET Seeds,
fruit, berries.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Fruits and berries essential in diet.
CAGE LIFE
The Blue Crowned Conure is Intelligent and affectionate, with possibly
overpowering voice. May learn to talk. Long nest box or hollow tree. Lays
3 eggs, incubation 24 days, fledging 56 days, fed by male.
